hey Brad,
What wheels did you buy?
These are what are on my car and a few of mine are a bit S%$@. clear coat coming off and rubbish.
What did you get? cant decide whether or not to buy these to replace mine with "new" ones, or buy a new and bigger set.MY16 VW Golf GTI - Carbon Steel - Manual

Then I bought an "as new" set of Audi A4 16x7.5 ET50 with 225/55x16 michelins. They also needed hub rings & some Skoda decals. They still aren't ideal. The wheels are a pain to clean - they have a weird groove running behind the spokes. Also, they are at least 3kg heavier than the Lyras. So when the tyres wear out I will look for something else.
Currently, I need to empty my garage. I'm a bit of a hoarder & it's a bad thing.

If you can get them stupidly cheap then go for it. Next time round I'll be paying more attention to both wheel & tyre weight.
As a guide:
16x6.5 Lyras = 8.5-9kg; CSC2 205/55x16 = 8.5-9kg. Weighed total = 17.3kg
17x8 BBS = 7-7.5kg; Kumho KU31 225/45x17 = 10.5-11kg. weighed total = 18kg
16x7.5 Audi = 9.5-10kg; Michelin 225/55x16 = 9.5-10kg. weighed total = 20kg
I'd like to aim for a 7kg rim with 9kg tyre. I think it's do-able without spending a fortune.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
