I haven't had the liberty to drive a manual Golf R yet and probably won't want to any time soon so I couldn't comment on the gearbox comparison to it or the S3 but then again, both those cars are much more pricier vehicles.

.. even on stock it's pretty damn noticable - apart from AWD, what would be the best way to (help) overcome what I imaging would be extreme levels of spin once the car is tuned??
