problem with Columbus AUX input

Hi All,

Am having intermittent problems with the AUX input on the Columbus system. I'm using the aux input in the console until I get around to buying an ipod cable for the MDI. Sometimes it works fine, and other times it doesn't recognise the ipod is connected. Then today when I plugged the ipod in, the system displayed the 'starting system' screen for several minutes and didn't actually start. Was as if the software had frozen or something.

Has anyone else had any problems with the aux input?

I've had no problems at all but I have the older Audience system. With mine you simply plug it in, put the radio on CD mode and press CD again and you start playing whatever you want to and it instantly appears. Yes I have no real experience with Columbus but what I'm asking is that shouldn't it be as simple? It's not the MDI as you said.

In use a lot of Aux inputs in various devices and I find that invariably it's the cable not being seated correctly. A lot of cables (and Mac ones are the worst offenders in my experience) seem to have two "clicks" to seat them correctly. You push the cable in and feel it click and you think it's in but it does not work. You then push the cable again and it clicks a second time and lo and behold music or noise happens.

Noise is usually the case from my daughters iPod.
But i agree with K1W1 you do have to ensure it is fully inserted.
