When I went on the driveday few weeks ago I could not get over the interest in 90 TSI & I was not in one, so this weekend I had to go to rural Victoria & took down our demo 90 TSI Auto to try it on open road for myself. It handled speed limit plus 10k very easily on cruise & I was delighted in " feel " of it on the road. The economy was exceptional down & then on return journey I got back to Wangaratta on freeway on way home before it needed fuel , it did 906.6km for 54 litres. Filled it Wangaratta & back to Maroubra yesterday & filled near work Blacktown this morning 698.3km for 41.01 litres , very impressed in car & economy > 1605km for 95 litres

7.2 L /100 km. I've only managed that a couple of times on the RS diesel manual. Not bad for a little petrol auto.

Our RS Petrol Manual averages 7.1 L/100km which includes some peak hour traffic too!

        Not a bad price those 90 TSI's

          Kiwi,

to travel 1605kms and consume 95 litres of fuel you would average 5.92 l/100km.

Where do you get 7.2 l/100km from ?

Pushing the wrong buttons on an iPhone instead of using a real calculator and not thinking straight I suspect.
Now I have used a proper implement you are correct and that makes the response different. Only once have I ever got below 6L/100 km.

My initial thoughts were that the TSI 90's might be underpowered. From the few articles that I have read and now hearing that car handles rather nicely at speed, how wrong my initial thoughts were. Those economy figures are very impressive as well. The pricing now seems to be spot on, so hopefully with some advertising to back up these fine vehicles there hopefully should be a good number of them rolling off the show room floors and onto the roads.

I have been getting 6.6 litres per 100 over 40,000 km in a 125 TDI Superb.

Just busted through the first 1,000 km in the 125 TDI Superb wagon, the economy is awesome for a vehicle this size. The average displayed is 6.4 but it will take a few fills and my own calc to confirm how accurate it is. Did a 90 km trip on Sunday from the Dandenong ranges to Avalon, a mix of suburban, freeway and car-park crawling for an indicated usage of 5.1 litres per 100. Have seen high 4's average on freeway work for short periods.

They didn't tell me there was no Bluetooth - grrrr.

Is that the official pricing from Skoda or for your dealer? Manual only or DSG too (for extra of course)?
They are still listed on the website as more than that, and no "deals" mentioned, my old man has been looking at demo's for more than that (not in Syndey though)
