satnav discs

Quick question, should I have received the satnav map discs with my MY11 RS? Maps are installed, but the dealer didn't mention anything about the disc.

That's the thing that has always worried me about OEM satnav. They have you by the short and curlies and they tend to squeeze very hard when it come to map upgrade time.

The disc was in the glovebox when I got my car. I think they should have given it to you since it is technically yours.

Mine didn't come with the disc (and the maps were not installed either). But the disc came a week after and I collected it from the dealer.

yes they should have given you the discs. When i picked up my Tiguan they showed me the disc still in its packaging, opened it in front of me and started the installation whilst they went over the cars features and the options i ordered etc. When the maps were finished being installed they removed the disc, put it back in its case and handed it to me. It was one of the items on their checklist when handing over the car.

they don't put the satnav discs in the glovebox/boot anymore due to the increasing number of thefts of these discs.
instead they're sent separately from skoda hq, usually a week later, to the dealer once he/she has confirmed they've received the vehicle at the yard.

hence u should b able to pickup the discs from ur dealer a week or so later after u've picked up ur car. as dodgey mentioned above.

its up to u to ask the dealer for these discs.
