  • New Skoda Logo April 2011? Oh Dear...

So I fell upon this as I was surfing the web in my lunch break. After doing a few searches it seems to be all over the internet. Skoda is getting a new logo this year?

After seeing some of the pictures on various web sites, the "new logo" makes the Coles Supermarket logo look upmarket & exciting in comparison...

You could just de-badge it or buy a replacement old style badge. Doesn't seem worth forgoing the car for IMO.

      Some interesting info for you.

      Skoda

      1926 - 1933
This company has been founded in the year 1895. In Mladá Boleslav cars have been manufactured under the brand Skoda and though the name brand has been completely changed in form of novel product logo is visible continuity with previous stage and the logo of this company has a novel which is of oval shape where the brand name is yet a dominant one in the center bounded laurels.

      1926 - 1990
The first logo of became so popular which is of which is of winged arrow and this particular one has already been used earlier in 1926.Below is a clear view of logos of Skoda company with clear description behind the design!

Yeah I've seen this on their website.

Hopefully this new logo is just a rumor...

Highly doubt a logo change anytime soon.

Manufacturers change their logos from time to time to update and refresh their image I don't have any issues with Skoda doing that if they want. I suspect that the median age group of Skoda buyers may be in the older range and perhaps the new logo, which will presumably be coupled with vehicle styling changes may indicate an attempt to attract a younger buying group.

I agree with Jayen, Yes the one shown ( to be the new one) its more modern and contemporary but.. hmm lacks explanation and seems like an easy change and seems to be very Korean and bland.

The current symbol is powerful, has meaning and carries presence in the market. I see no reason for VAG to change it unless they want to lower Skoda's value.

Added to that.. the current logo looks awesome on Luxons... lol

I agree with Jayen. The current one is definitely more appealing, the new one does look a little bit more modern but I find the colours don't really mix well. They have to keep it simple! The current one is already 'different' enough from other brands, no need to make it ugly!

My first car was a 83 Leone.... don't tell me about those stupid stars.. the front grill and rear boot badge would nearly take your hand off when washing the car.. was so bad.. Still fond memories of that badge, before Subaru became a wing of GM/Toyota and Nissan..

This is the reply I received today from Skoda Australia:

"Thank you for your recent e-mail enquiry.

We do not have any information on logo changes available through Skoda Customer Care, however we are aware that Skoda Australia are always looking at our Corporate Identity to ensure it remains fresh and relevant.

                            Kind regards
                            Skoda Customer Care"

VW Group may as well change the VW logo while they're at it, oh and don't forget Audi... Surely those logos have been around for far too long & have therefore become the most well recognised in the Auto Industry...

You mean like the five versions of the VW logo they haven't had in the last 50 years?

Look at the history of any name brand company with a logo that never changes and you will actually see that the logo does change quite markedly over time.

                              What about these?
