Yeah.... I think sentimentality will be out the window when you get your Czech.

I agree with bobski - after an hours driving in the new yellow you will soon forget you even had an Astra.
Just remember your are now part of an elite club.

Just thinkwhat you could do with the space while your waiting.
You could paint the floor grey and put lane lines in prep......

I wouldn't go that far as to say elite, as that would be an elitist comment to say, but its certainly do believe its a great vehicle to own..

And if my memory serves right then I have seen your old astra with you driving it... Cars in good nick and with body kits are something I notice.. you live up in the Gunghalin area right? I'm up here too..

well actually vrs147 has a point - the fact that its "yellow", will make it "elite"!!! hehehhehehe

i don't live in gunghalin area, but i am there often enough for some shopping and i have a mate who live in ngunnawal.
so yes, there is a good chance u've seen me there.

hey vrs147 - can u tell me wat radio system u got?
did u order the 'columbus' sat nav when u placed the order?
if not, i'm expecting u got the 'amundsen' system.

the reason i ask it because, as u know, sat nav is standard on my11 models now - but it (skoda hq) mentions the 'amundsen' as being the standard, not the 'columbus'.
yet i'm curious to know if skoda oz choose the 'columbus' to b the standard fit?

I got the Columbus system as they are definately standard in the MY11 models.
I had not specified the Columbus in the order - it just arrived with one and this had been confirmed by Trivetts that it was standard now.

                    cheers mate for confirming that.
i had ordered it with mine.
i was just confused between skoda (new.skoda-auto.com) & skoda oz.
skoda oz is still lazy and haven't put up the my11 brochures.

also, i noticed (a month later) i had forgotten to add 'rear wiper' in my order, as it was not a standard fit.
however, as it turns out, mine had a rear wiper. i was pleased to say the least
it appears to be standard for my11 models?

again....if skoda oz could publish updated my11 brochures that would help in clarifying all this.

I definately agree that Skoda Oz need to get their act together and ensure the latest information is available for any potential buyers.
And some of this isn't rocket science - If you bring out a new model make sure that the website redlects this and that the dealers can provide the latest information to the customers. Hey it might even make the customer happy that he has gone away with all the specs about a vehicle if he is using it as a comparison to another vehicle.

And on the other hand Skoda may not be the only company that are bad at this but come on Skoda get the right word out to your customers.

Sure did (have the DVD in my glove box) - Works great and a shame your in Canberra and not closer.

It is a great unit and the accuracy of your location is excellent (very happy with this).

For simple things it is relatively easy to use but some of the more advanced elements can be a bit more taxing but overall great unit.
A tip for young players and it took me a while to set it up right is the spoken directions.
To get it perfect you have to press the set up button (right) after you have entered a destination and this willrepeat the last spoken command and at this point 9during the speech) you adjust the volume volume control. Others may say that you can set this in the setup menu, but i found that the volume given out did not represent the volume during the speech (higher) than in setup.

Hey .... did you get the windows tinted yet ?

If you haven't had them done already, might I suggest you go check out Altapac at Kotara. They have some nice alternatives to the standard "pimp my ride" limousine black most places offer.

They have a nice smokey grey and smokey blue type tint (not that illegal stuff) that I think is really nice. We have it on both our cars. Something to consider anyways.

Hope you are enjoying the car.

                            Cheers - Dave.
