The review is of a 118TSI vehicle not the entire range. The diesel option does get a mention but only in passing which is the correct thing to do when reviewing a specific vehicle. It is not a technical review its designed in a conversational piece and I think that in that respect it is correctly weighted and reflects the sort of conversation a couple are likely to have.
Overall for what it is I think it's well written and accurate.

Every review I read of Skoda, in the Fairfax press at least, raises the issue of resale. It would be interesting/useful to get some real world stats on that one, seeing Redbook etc suggests good resale.
And something to watch out for - nice little piece in the latest (UK) issue of evo, where they've fitted trackday tyres to their 118Tsi Yeti and taken it 3 up around the Neurburgring (sorry for the eu, but I can't find the umlaut atm)Brilliant Silver Octavia Scout 2010

They love this one too.
They give high praise to the fuel economyit's more frugal than many a large car on the Australian market. The only blight I can see is a thirst for more expensive premium unleaded fuelcarandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

I bought my car from Southern Classic Cars in Wollongong. I was offered and took advantage of having a car for a three day loan period during which I did quite a few K's. The salesman said to me as I drove out the gate for the loan period that I would buy it and he was right, the car sold itself over that period. My only regret is I did not try and buy the wagon on the stand at the Sydney motor show, that was a beautiful car.

Mind you, if you are coming from a car with a lot of clicks on it, most new cars are going to seem a big step up.

How do I know this? I was offered it whilst it was on the floor of the show because of the massive delays with my order. But I stuck to my wish list because it didn't have KESSY, 3 spoke steering wheel (and was the diesel variant) so I decided to wait for my ordered one. Having seen it in the flesh on sunny days and overcast days I decided I didn't like the colour so changed my order to storm blue.Last edited by spaz74; 26-01-2011, 08:59 PM.2011 Superb Wagon Elegance 1.8TSI Storm Blue with: KESSY, 18" sports pack, panoramic roof, false floor, 3 spoke paddle shift, electric tailgate, MDI, blinds, tow bar, privacy glass, bluetooth and reversing camera

65K for a show car, next please. I don't recall it having that colour interior, maybe it is just the photos not showing the true colour. I thought it was a light tan/caramel colour but that could be old timers disease setting in. If they pull about 10K off it they can ring me.
