We are all in the same boat

I saw the truck coming around the corner with 2 Superb Elegance TDI & Yellow RS on back & thought he will be happy , but like you all , we are still awaiting others also, but rest assured the wait will be worth it

After a gentle nudge yesterday, my dealer came back to me saying that my vehicle arrived at their Auburn depot yesterday. He said I should be taking delivery on Monday (now changed to Tuesday).

All they need to do is tint, clean & rego. Surely if they pulled their finger out, I could have had it by this Friday for the weekend...

After complaining to my mate who works for the same auto group, that my Skoda dealer keeps pushing back the delivery date, I will now be receiving my car this Friday!

Yeah, I don't think that is good enough. I would call him again. Dealers sometimes need reminding that you've handed over quite a lot of money, so you're allowed to ask them a few questions.

I liked that it was going to take Northshore Skoda 7 days to tint my windows... According to my sales person that is. And before I spoke to a higher power.

The pressure from the dealership point of view comes on in the last week when if they have had a poor or ordinary month they will be wanting to get everything possible out the door.
If you are happy to wait things will happen in due course. If you want to be speed things up the only way that will happen is if you make a nuisance of yourself and force them to do something.
Or We want them out ASAP, so our floor plan is not burdened by customers cars who would like to enjoy them as much as we want to deliver them. From a business point of view it makes sence to deliver as fast as possible. Means we get get paid you guys get to enjoy the new car and everyone is happy. Does this make sence? I hate having a really busy last week of the month with deliveries but its always the way.Things get missed when people rush. The morning Camilla lands the 18th of November and all those customers want their cars before the end of month. The Faust has just arrived and nearly anybody waiting for a Polo in Aus has been waiting for this boat. woop woop.. there are a few Golf R's on there as well. Some dealerships pay staff more for getting cars out earlier than the 15th of the month . To stop back logs of stock and rising interest rates on floor plans like homeloans they rise.. nothing like having a 10million dollar Homeloan.. lol.. at 7.45 % it good to turn that stock back into $$$$$$ ASAP.. Please don't dealer bash.. Customers are out livelyhood. Cheers

I'm not dealer bashing at all just explaining the attitude of many staff at dealerships.
What you say is perfectly correct from a business point of view and always has been even back when I was selling cars in the USA, NZ and Australia in the 1980's and 90's but often the financial requirements of the business don't always translate to the staff until they suddenly see their sales targets looming towards the end of the month or they get gently reminded by anxious customers. It's pretty obvious from other peoples comments in this and other threads that many dealerships don't have the same customer focussed attitudes that you display.
BTW: Floor plan rates hit 17% when I was managing a sales staff. I know all to well about cash flow.

I honestly don't think theres been dealer bashing Phillip, some have been keener than others with their comments yes. But I guess the frustrating point around this forum is to find out that cars that arrive on the same ship seem to have up to 8-10 days difference in delivery dates to the dealer, let alone the actual delivery date to the customer.
Some of us have been realistic and others want it yesterday!

I guess its part of the frustration of purchasing a factory ordered car from Europe.

We got more today, RS Silver Wagon, RS Anthracite Hatch, but still no Superb Elegance TDI Wagons or Octavia 103 TDI Wagons, but re some comment why 8-10 days difference off same boat, none of us can control that, Patrick agreement with manufacturer is 10 working days to dealership guaranteed from arrival date on computer to allow, Delivery, Compliance, Customs etc so I can easily see 10 days difference in OUT the door from dealers etc, we all want customer to be happy

well its day 9 today - and they're yet to give my dealer an ETA. they promised to "definately" provide him with an ETA today (thurs).
yeah right...i'll believe it when i c it!!
its not just my car - its all the skodas for canberra, including CanberravRS's beast of a Superb!

maybe the "10 day" rule doesn't apply for "interstate" deliveries!!!

my dealer now tentatively indicates mid-next week in my hands!!!
                        bugger!

doesn't matter - i'll sit here & wait patiently.....as long as there no delays cause "it got damaged during transit"!!!

I get my Volkswagens from perth in ten days. Most of the time.. I dont see why it takes longer than ten to get them from Port Kembla.. other than they most of the time get shipped to Sydney then reloaded to Canberra unless there is a full truck from Port Kembla.

Cheer up dude... This is the second deal i have had with Colin, and he's not telling lies or deceiving you, I think its just the way the cards fall for Lennock deliveries.
A week in the scheme of things is not a long time at all.

Chill out, and trust me if the car was damaged in transport you would know by now.

I'm certainly not stressed at all, yes im keen as can be, and i've been without a car for nearly 4 weeks, so you can imagine how excited/frustrated i am with all this rain and being on two wheels.

                            It will arrive soon.

Its all good with Colin. He's been very good with keeping me updated. He's got a million things to do, yet he still takes the time to update me. i appreciate that from him.

As u say, there is nothing he can do. Just like us, he too is at their (patricks) mercy.

i was just venting my impatience at patricks. hehehehe.
but as Phillip mentioned, they would b no reason why patricks would take they time to make the delivery. they must've have a sh1et-load for canberra, hence the time its taken sofar.
