Thats very naughty of Skoda to show the RS-P as a model when it doesn't exist outside that car!!

It's no different from any other Show special car. Most manufacturers have something special on their stands.

Ahh the pics shows up on the home PC...

As for the RS-P, as K1w1 said, it's the same for almost all other manufacturers... Hyundai, Porsche, Renault, all had something..

Went to the show last night myself. Great to see Skoda well presented and the interest in the cars. It's funny as they all say the same "Oh, these are those Skoda's, they're supposed to be pretty good.....".

It is the first time I have looked at a white VRS and they look pretty good! The other cars there were also great, including the RS-P. At least Skoda were showing a car that can actually cut loose on the track! There were plenty of concept cars that will never see a road.

I didn't hear anyone say that when I went to the stand... Most people were saying negative things about the Skoda brand from what I heard, that or they glanced over and "tsssk'ed" under their breath. I did hear one guy who glanced at the RS and said "that's ugly." I turned around and said "you're ugly too."

I'm getting a little tired of having to defend the Skoda brand to pretty much everyone, who then ask "why on earth did you buy that?" VW need to allow Skoda to say that they are now part of the VW family in their advertising, to put an end to this "aren't they made in Russia" business... They are in the need of some serious brand awareness in Australia. At the end of the day, the sales are going back into VW's pockets regardless if the badge says Golf or Octavia.

Oh really, that's unfortunate. I heard nothing but praise, especially for the Yeti on the stand. There was even a family practically having a 'crisis' over the Superb Combi sitting there (Top Gear reference there)! I look at it like this, the car (or brand) is too good for them if they don't like it and I'm not going to waste my time over it .

Must have been a bad night... I haven't had anyone outright rubbish the Skoda since I have bought one. I a few have had a blank look on their face and they usually start looking interested when they hear most of the running gear and electricals are straight out of a VW.

I had a couple of blokes all over the car when I parked at Coles last week - both had never seen one in the flesh. One didn't know the brand, the other was just full of praise.

I've had a number of random people asking questions about about the Superb wagon or literally pointing out the car to their wives as I drive past since I picked it up last week. Never had that recation with new car I've owned before...

Lots of the guys at work who were dubious about my purchase have been nothing but impressed and complimentary. The reaction I've got about the park assist has been priceless...people seem to think that the Superb is some sort of advanced alien vessel after showing them that function while taking them for a drive.

I really think that all it takes is for people actually to go for a drive in a Skoda to turn them from oblivious passersby to impressed passengers who would now actually consider at least looking at a Skoda the next time they buy.

Experience and word of mouth may not be the widest forms of advertising but they surely are the most convincing.
