  • Couple of Noob Questions...

    Hi.

Couple of Noob Questions. I realise the answers may well lurk within the bowels of the forum so please feel free to either....

    1) Make fun of the noob and not answer the question
    2) Tell the noob "Those Questions have been answered before", and not provide the answer.
    3) Tell the noob "Those Questions have been answered before", but link a brother up to the thread where he can find the answer.
    4) Just tell a brother the answer....

Question 1 : What is the PCD and offset and Centre Bore on the 18" Rims that Come on the Current VRS ?

Question 2 : What's in the box.....should anything be behind this compartment. (See Pict). Its the one with the "First Aid Kit" sign and "Safety Triangle" sign on it.

    Many Thanks - Dave.

LOL! I like you, you make me laugh (Borat voice). Just those lines put me off the rest of what you asked.

UMMM... Can't answer the first question (I'm only 16 you see) but the second one is just a storage box. If you had a first-aid kit that's where you put it. The cover comes off you know?

I have a question for you: Is that your RS Megane!?

^^ Hi !! Thanks for the reply.

      Yes....that is my R26.

Re the "Storage Box". I was not sure if there should be a "First Aid Kit" and some kind of Safety Triangle in there, as there was nothing but air in there when we opened it up.

      Cheers - Dave.

On my vRS hatch there is a First Aid kit there but only because I put it there after I took it out of my previous car.

The safety triangle fits directly on the inside of the boot lip. There are some rubber straps there to retain it. Once again Skoda Australia didn't deem it necessary to supply the vehicles with triangles so it's a case of supply your own if you want one.

Ahem, unless you have a Superb of course! (I think they stole them from Audi anyway because it has an Audi symbol on it and an Audi part number)

            Thanks Folks.

I was wondering if we got jipped or not. (Relatively speaking - that is).

We'll get our own First Aid / Safety Kit and store them in the designated space then.

            Cheers - Dave.

In many countries in Europe, it is a legal requirement to carry a first aid kit, warning triangles, fire extinguisher (and maybe more). Suffice to say, de-specced for Australia as it is not mandatory.

                Thanks for the Link ...

                That answers that question then.

                  Buying new wheels I gather?

Google has quite a few hits: the PCD should be 5 x 112, offset is somewhere between 35 & 42, and the bore is 57.1.

Rotated my wheels today, and this is what was stamped inside. That should answer the offset. PCD of most current VAG cars are 5x112.

Bunnings sell the right size Safety Triangle in a red plastic sleeve for ~$10. Fits perfectly.

Thanks again for Replies so far.

Not actually looking for new rims, it's just the sort of information I like to have at hand in case a bargain presents itself.
