As I mentioned in another thread that means plenty of low mileage second hand ones at dealers in a couple of months.
The problem with that is it will depress prices for a while until they have gone. I know one person who was put of buying an Octavia wagon earlier this year because of all the cheap ones in dealerships as a result of the Sun Tour. She believed despite what several people tried to tell her that there must have been something wrong with Skodas because people were selling them with low miles.

Awww common I was hoping to have a more cheerful positive thread for once, and seeing the brand getting national TV coverage for a week on the news and sporting papers etc can only be positive, rather than instantly being negative about a some low mileage ranging spec cars that may not even be going on sale in a few weeks time.
There may well be a few on sale, but not likely till after the Tour Down under early next year.. I know from speaking to a mate who works on the Dutch team that their Octavia team car for this event is an early 09 build and the same car they had for the Tour Down Under back in Jan this year, meaning that they are not all going to be sold.. if they look like the current model then Skoda Australia are likely to hold onto most for the ongoing event sponsorship of major cycling events in Australia for the next few years.

So they don't just import them for an event and have a mass sell off.

I'm positive I think the exposure on TV and the road is great. It's amazing how many second looks I get from cyclists while driving around with Thule bike racks on the roof and often a bike there as well so the cycling community at least must have some brand recognition of Skoda.

My Dr has cycling mags in the waiting room - major Skoda ads in them all year. Plus the tour advertising.

Unfortunately the only decent merchandise I can find is on the skoda.de site, and I haven't made the effort to work out whether they'll ship it here....

Yes I was at the course today watching the Skoda's. oops I mean rider's.
Lots of people at work are commenting on the looks in a positive way.At least three of them are using me as a test pilot and are waiting till I take delivery (only 9 more days) before they make up thier minds.

We've got about 8 TVs tuned to ONE HD in the office and everytime I walk past one I've been going, "SSSHHHKODA!" (basically interupting whomever is closest)... They are certainly getting some exposure in our office

Great to see the support for tour , my business is 50m from camp in adelaide , fantastic to see so many skoda in one place.

Saw the end of tour in paris this year , what exposure for the brand , best thing they ever did was to support cycling .

All positive , cant help if idiots react like that .

No not all RS wagons.About half/half RS and standard.The rider support cars all wagons.But also a few superb/octy sedans for the officials
