  • Gearbox whine

I just noticed today a whine in my DSG 'box at low speeds. It occurs at about 15 km/hr in 2nd gear and is quite loud. I've only just noticed it because I usually don't have to travel in peak hour traffic but today I was caught up in a traffic jam.

Is gearbox noise normal or should I get it checked out? There seems to be no problems with shifting gears and it only occurs in a very narrow speed range. My RS has done 24,000 kms, mostly highway traveling.

Isn't that whine from you, wondering why on earth the DSG thinks it should be in 2nd at 15 km/hr, instead of 1st? :-P

Funny you should mention it. I noticed it yesterday when driving slowly. Its not my daily driver and usually have the radio on (not this time) so havent noticed it before.

Well, I was whining actually. Hate being stuck in traffic! And not used to going slow .

I was going to wait until the next service to get it checked out, just wanted to know if it was normal or not. I guess I'll ring the service dept next week and see if they can help.
