New dealership in Leichhardt

I contacted Skoda about Steve Jarvin Skoda closing in Burwood, here is the response I got:

We can confirm that Steve Jarvin will be closing, however we will have a
new dealer in the Leichardt area starting on the 1st October. We will be
confirming details shortly, and these will be available through our
website.

My best guess is that this means Rick Damelian will add Skoda to his stable, unless someone is brave enough to open up next door, or "Leichardt area" includes Petersham, in which case it could be AMR

In a long twist of events I was talking to my Skoda Aus contact and he confirmed that they're getting an even better dealership in place so this could be it. Are Steve Jarvin contacting all customers; if so I'm expecting my letter!

That's a relief! I'm hoping for Rick Damelian Skoda!

I am not sure whether I should bother with my service being done there if they are closing. Maybe they won't have the same commitment to quality. Ultra tune gave a cheaper quote and took more time to explain the "special oil grade" and scope of the service.

I d be going with the reputable independant for the servicing, that doesn t have the spotty faced apprentice doing the minor services.

I was looking to pay them a visit earlier this year after my wife returns to work from Mat leave.. almost got sick of looking at that blue Octavia RS on ramps at the front, I felt like walking in and making a silly offer

I had my car serviced yesterday at SJ and they indicated the VW dealer will take on the franchise, which I expect is Barloworld in Five Dock.

Got my letter form Jarvin's today saying they'd sold the Skoda franchise "to another local dealer" and I'd be advised of more later.

I suppose at least Damelians do at least try to give their brands more cachet than Jarvins?

I did too. Told me nothing lol and I agree, Skoda will have a higher cache at Rick Damelian's than friggin' Steve Jarvin... Like Alfa/Citroen/Suzuki/Honda/Renault/Exotics vs Mitsubishi/Nissan. Hmmmm....

I got my letter last week also.

Drove past SJ Skoda on the weekend. All banners and signwriting are gone, just a few lonely Skodas still waiting to be snapped up at discount prices....

Really got to wonder why in NSW by this time there is still no Skoda dealer in the Eastern Suburbs /ST George / Sutherland Shire.
