I just had someone drive into my GTI. At least they say they're going to pay up. Fingers crossed because I haven't reported it to my insurance company.
There's a reason we need insurance people, because a Golf door costs 2300 bucks to repair!
Mate that's seriously f*#ked up, what the hell is wrong with people? What makes someone even contemplate mindlessly vandalising someone else's property like that? I would be livid as hell.... I'm just sorry the turd wasn't around for you to let him know just how much you appreciate his gesture... panelbeat the living sh#t out of him.
That is just crap mate. Sorry to see that people still do this sort of crap.
Giving someone a flogging these days will probably land you in gaol or hospital. And you don't have much recourse if they are caught either. In NSW, the coppers would probably just fine them.
I feel for you it's a personal violation when that sort of thing happens.
At least the person doing it was an amateur. That length of scratching strategically placed over several panel joins would result in a complete respray being required if the person doing it had thought things through.
I've been dreading this for years. My first car was a 12 yr old Ford Meteor, nothing flash to look at and someone did that to the bonnet and two sides just after I spent weeks trying to restore the paint.....I was gutted.
Sorry to see that some moron can do such a thing.
Agree with all the comments that everyone has made and I hope the skum gets what they deserve some time soon.

Man, that blows!
Like Tony said, Karma will find this scum and repay them the favour!! It's just a pity you're more than likely not going to be there when it happens.
Doesn't help you though with dealing with this inconvenience! What an Fwit!
Hope you get it sorted quick and that it doesn't hurt the hip pocket too much...will you go through insurance or not?
Cheers,
Jayse.
The Fräulein: Black .:R36 Wagon...all boxes ticked!!
The German Mistress: 2001 Black B5 A4 1.8T
Yep, it was parked in the work car park, which every scumbag at Pt. Kembla has access to (which has security video ,but doesn t cover the spot I was parked in). Looks like its going to be about $600 for a full bonnet respray + blending into the guards. Excess is $600, so it all comes out of my pocket. Ouch !!

Damn, that sucks - sometimes people just don't deserve their own freedom...
Condolences. Good luck with the re-spray.
EDIT: Read somewhere recently that BMW are working on a paint that will repair itself - just imagine the face of someone keying a car when it seamlessly covers over their scratch! If only that were available now.
Sorry, to see that done to your car. I just had someone wipe out 2 doors on my car while I was parked! $7000 all up. Yours will come up like new, but makes you nervous about where you park.
I really want an in car security camera to be on the market to catch these assholes....
