Melbourne Dealerships and how do they rate?

Just regarding a test drive, you can ask for any of the cars on the floor at Richmond, they got one out within minutes, and I've been offered that many times in advance as well. Only fern tree gully and geelong seemed incapable about it. It seems the shortage of staff and the Audi guys standing in that is the issue and George is well aware of it. When I bought there was also Adil but it seems he works at the Audi centre in the city now.

I bought my RS wagon through Richmond Skoda.

Made a call mid week to test drive an RS wagon and it was easily arranged for the following weekend. Went with Richmond as they were the closet to home, work.

Upon ordering the car, there were numerous delays in getting a clear answer as to when the car would be available for delivery, but apparently there was an issue with the actual ship and a additional quarantine requirement for vehicles on board. Upon the car actually arriving at the dealership, Richmond Skoda was great in preparing the vehicle and getting me on my way.

I too agree that George is excellent and will go the extra mile to provide good service. Ask for George.

I have just gone through Bayford Skoda (Camberwell VW) to buy some rubber mats and they too were excellent.

Hmm interesting, I left a few message for Camberwell VW as I work on Burwood Rd, was thinking of using them for service etc, but never got any reply from them

Just bought a octavia TDI 2014 from Richmond Skoda.

I would like to say the one and only reason was because they had the car in stock and matched what an other dealer could do price wise.

I found the whole experience very painful. Promises of delivery date of a car "in stock" was incorrect. I was told "up to 3 days" which once the deal was done quickly blew out to over a week. I was told this long story of the extra mile that they go for their clients when talking the deal, but it all stopped after they got the contract signed.

Essendon Skoda I found to be much better. Stuart had all the time in the world for me and did a great deal trying to get my business. Unfortunately a new baby put a time restraint on getting a car from him in the specs and colour we wanted.

Richmond need a big attitude adjustment, they now get the bulk of orders due to Bayford shutting down. I've noticed Camberwell VW still seem to be getting Skodas in their yards though. They have just opened up a Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler dealer next door, I would have thought Skoda would have been a better move, but having it that close to VW might have stolen sales I guess.

Just committed to a ambition plus dsg wagon with front sensor today, I would highly recommend John from Peninsula Skoda if you are in Melbourne / VIC.

Yeah test drove it back to back with vw golf comfortline wagon, loved the Octavia, need to find some better looking 17" wheels though, may be graphite / dark grey, to suit the silver wagon

I was lucky enough to have a loan of a Golf for a while, which although i had already ordered the Octavia confirmed the Octavia to be more suited to me. (My wife actually, it's hers.) I could imagine the silver wheels would disappear on some colours, I got the blue and they come up pretty well. I think the wagon looks better with the black roof racks and door surrounds as well.

I have only dealt with Peninsular Skoda, the location of the dealer means you could actually take the car down to the freeway all the way to Springvale Rd and back if you asked.
