Skoda RS TSI DSG - single clicking sound whenever accelerating from zero

Hi all,
I've had my RS for about 7 weeks now, and am absolutely loving it (the car has now done about 1800kms). But since yesterday it has started to develop a weird clicking sound (just a single loud click) whenever I stop and then accelerate. The sound seems to be coming from the rear (perhaps the rear speakers or then the door - I'm not sure). But it seems to come at around 20 - 25 kmph and then its gone. Also I noticed that whenever I rest my elbow on the front door panel while driving, the panel seems to rattle - which indicates quite poor packing material within the door - never had this type of rattle in my old MkV Golf.
Anyone else having a similar issue or could anyone please confirm whether their door panels also rattle - just below the windows (near the immosiler light)?

I've read the VW 1.4 Twin Charger threads about loud clicking noises which were either attributed to the supercharger or the 7-speed DSG. Obviously those aren't directly relevant here, but I don't think the clicking sound is coming from the RS DSG (wet clutch 6 spd).

Any thoughts?

I had a something similar in my MkV GTI. A clicking sound (only 1 click) on hard braking or acceleration. Turned out to be a clip holding the fuel line. Once it was all tightened up, it went away. Maybe it is something similar in the RS.

Heh, you were lucky. I had that on my old GTI too. driver side, near the red led on the door. It would rattle. Goes away for a while when you push it hard. I took it in for VW to check and they just said it was the rubber contacting the metal and just sprayed silicon on it. Some people thought it might have been a broken clip, but I never opened to check. Also had a rattle in the rear, and VW said it was the numberplate, so they put some felt tape behind it. Never went away. In fact I had more rattles after I got them to check out the single door rattle than before, so I never ever took it back after the second time. (The rattle in the rear quarter panel was after I took it in for the rattle in the door. No idea how it got there) Too much of a waste of time. They took the car for days and then come back with silly answers, and I had more rattles than before, including the ones that they were supposed to fix. I know a couple of my friends who still have their GTIs were brave enough to open it all up and fix it themselves...

Best of luck getting all the rattles out. Thankfully for me, I have none on my RS as yet.

Could it be a stone stuck in the tyre?

Thanks for the tips guys, the rattle seems to have gone for now, so I'm thinking it might be the door panels or a stuck stone like Garybags said. I've booked at appointment with the dealer, but that isn't until mid-July! Will give an update on what they think. I'll ask them to check the fuel line clips too - thanks dodgey

Had two mk v gtis (2006 and 200 the 2006 rattled all over the shop and had creaking seats, rusting hubs, wind noise etc etc. The 2008 one was a marked improvement. These were both Wolfsburg built.

My pre facelift rs wagon had no rattles, less wind noise but lots of road noise. The fl rs wagon i have now had one rattle which I fixed (it was the dashboard end where it meets the door - I removed the panel and siliconed it which did the trick. It also has road noise issues but nothing that the Bolero can't deal with!

only after reading this, i noticed the clicking noise(the initial one click) when accelerating at low speeds. I've been a bit nosey to actually try and figure out what is happening, but failed. But what i've noticed is that when you push the accelerator slightly it clicks. I did it like about five times continuously and the noise still exists.

All this is in the Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI DSG.
