After reading this thread and worrying my car will be delivered with a crap GPS unit, I spoke with the Skoda product manager for Australia & he confirmed that all MY11 Octavia RS's will have the Columbus 30GB HDD GPS unit as standard equipment.
This is after I spoke to my dealer who was unsure as to what the word "Columbus" actually referred to... That was comforting...MY11 Octavia RS 2.0lt TSI DSG Liftback - Candy White

i.e.:-
- ordered before 30 june, built after 30 june = MY10
- ordered after 30 june, built after 30 june = MY11
if that's the case, then i may not be able to re-negotiate my final price as i ordered the 'columbus' as an added option.MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

MY11 cars are manufactured from June 1st 2010... If you ordered a car in late April or early May 2010 chances are it will be an MY11 as it takes around 5-7 weeks for the car to be manufactured from the time you sign the contract of sale.
A quick chat to your friendly dealer will confirm if your car is an MY10 or an MY11 as they are able to look it up on the Skoda ordering system...Last edited by Bayford Skoda; 03-08-2010, 12:30 PM.Heath Eustace... Sales Manager - Bayford Skoda Preston, Vic

You'll wear a track to your Skoda dealer leaving sticky finger marks on the car windows. I know I did when enduring a 3.5 month wait last year for my RS!
I can live without the GPS anyway (refidex is cheaper) BUT if I could get an AWD RS wagon (with some of the RS-P mods) I'd be a happy little camper!

. The ASX is what the Yeti will trounce when it arrives next year! (BTW the Yeti just won AutoExpress magazine's car of the year award! Must be pretty alright)

when is Skoda Australia going to update their brochures to include the MY11 changes?
Across the tasman, Skoda NZ have already published their MY11 brochures, across the range.
we still brochures from 2009 for MY10 specs!!!
C'mon Skoda Oz, get a move on........MY17 Superb 162TSI, Business Grey, Tech+Comfort Pack, APR ECU+TCU Stg 1, SLA, Rieger Splitter + Side Skirts, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Hardrace Swaybar, TPMS

The MY11 range brochure has been published on the website (well the Octavia range has, the rest of the range hasn't). The 118TSI/103TDI get new 16-inch alloys (a new design which I really like named Proxima) and Columbus sat-nav with the 30GB hard-drive, the 90TSI/77TDI gain a leather multifunction steering wheel, the 118TSI/103TDI lose electric-folding mirrors (Grrrrrr) and all Liftbacks gain a rear wiper as standard. That's all I could spot, I'm sure that there are more things of interest.
