  • RS Liftback Rear Wiper?

    Hi,

Does anyone out there have an RS Liftback with a rear wiper. If so, was it a factory order and how much?

I do, it was a factory order and I think it was under a couple of hundred dollars...

It's listed as an option on the current FL model.

It had to be factory ordered. All Liftbacks from January 2010 production have this feature as standard.

Umm, mine was Feb 2010 production, but was still an option. What a bummer

Thanks for those replies. I find it surprising that it wasn't a standard feature as every hatchback has a rear wiper. I think it is an important safety feature.

Now that I've been driving mine in the rain for a month or two and the dust for 3 or 4 months I don't think it's an issue.
The rear window doesn't get dirty like a hatch because the shape of the car is more sedan like. I have never felt the need to clean the back window yet other than during normal washing of the car.
I would probably never have used a rear wiper so far if I had one fitted.

To be different, I'm glad I fitted mine. Last week, driving in the heavy rain here in Sydney, it was a godsend!

I had a Mondeo previously and it had a rear wiper, it's great for quickly clearing dew when you need to back out of the driveway etc in the morning, I miss having one on the RS.

I just use rain-X on the side & rear windows.

I reverse into my driveway (safety thing with kids) and dew on the rear window in th emorning isn't an issue & it soon "blows" off and allows a view out the back.

Good thought with the Rain-X, I'd never thought of using it on the rear window.

Works better on sides & rear than the front
