  • Skoda servicing TDI

Just wondering what are the servicing costs for the 15k service in an Octavia TDI - particularly people's experiences at Sydney dealerships.

I'm closest to the Penrith dealership. I also have a small warranty claim to make which is why I'm taking it to the dealer.

I took my skoda there for the 15k service and some warranty repairs.... I was happy with the service cost and loan car being on a fleet type arrangement.

I however was not happy with the bs about the rattles they were supposed to have fixed. "trim clips replaced"........ Yeah right.... driving home from the dealership the same rattles were present (even after 50km of test driving undertaken by the dealership).

Its going back though, for the second and final chance at fixing the rattles, on the 9th of march.

What did they charge you for a service. Is it a TDI?

They have a wait until the 12th of March at present :S

Soceroo, don't take it to Steve Jarvin in Burwood, I've had bad experiences with them. The car was hit from the back by a very low car and the rear camber was pushed out and the dealer failed to recognise this after 2 services (despite the inside of the rear tyres being worn down by this part and needing two new tyres at $600...). Very annoyed with them frankly.

Penrith might be better in servicing but I've heard they're crap in actually sales (a friend of mine almost bought a year-old demo after being told that it was brand new, he ordered one instead) Is that true?

I just had the 15,000k at SJ in Burwood and all was good. Two minor warranty repairs done effortlessly and courteous service. Didn't see the bill cos fleet pay for it.

My vRS is the petrol FSI, the service was around $280 or so.

It might have come from the factory with incorrect camber from new - Skoda were building them with the wrong camber for quite a while (and denying the problem).

this is interesting as my rear camber looks out and in fact the rear (non RS model) almost looks lowered with bad camber.

any links of the problem? I'll do a google as well.

EDIT: here's a link I found. also the website makes for interetsing reading.

I'm taking the Octavia to my normal mechanic. I trust him to do a better job than the dealer. He's going to use all of the genuine parts for me.

Better than the 'What's a Skoda?' response I got from automasters in Penrith
