The sun actualy made a breif apperance today so decided to wash the wagon. While those Neptune alloys look great ,they are a real PITA to clean. I think some sort of brush and wheel cleaner must be the go.

You must have really skinny fingers to fit between those narrow spokes. It took me just as long to clean the wheels as the rest of the car, and now its going to rain again. Grrrrr.

I used to always choose wheels that had broad spokes after my first car had painful alloys with little slots (80s these were around). I didn't get a choice with the RS, and while it could be worse, they are still hard to clean. These are the non Neptune ones.
Has anyone pulled their RS wheels off and cleaned them thoroughly and then sealed them with a good quality polish. will help with keeping them in good condition ( harder for brake dust etc to stick to them) and easier to clean.
I also use a small "bug remover" style foam brick that fits between the smaller slots, makes life fairly easy for cleaning the wheels.
I use a cone shaped brush, also called a spoked wheel brush - excellant for tight nooks and crannies.
Biggest issue is the ones available in Oz (and the ones I've found on the interweb that can be shipped here) are all made of plastic.
Apparently the beez neez are the natural bristled brushes - when used with soap and water, i've read that the natural bristle resist oil and grease clinging to the bristles, so no residue to be put back onto the wheels or through the bucket during later washes.
If anyone knows where I can track down said brush - even from overseas, i'd be bloody grateful
Autopia may ship to Oz but they don't have natural bristle cone brushes (or at least the search doesn't it or under car detailing brushes ..
and yes, there will be a number of other American websites that may be prepared to ship to Oz but i want to pay less for postage than for the brush itself - i probably should have said that up front
i was more thinking that if someone had actually come across a shop locally or where they had bought a similar product they could make a recommendation.
The RS wheels are a god send compared to the Golf MkV R32 wheels......they were a real PITA to clean. You would need about 30mins per wheel to get them looking good and alot of fidly rag work.
