  • Build confirmed RS on the way

    Hey everyone,

I've been reading firstly Briskoda for months then discoverd the OZ community in Jan after signing a contract for a new wagon Dec09. On order is a white RS TSI Wagon DSG with all the options, december was a great month for deals and smashed what the car broker could do who was ordinary.

Really enjoyed reading up on everyones experiences here and very confident I made the right choice, infact i didn't drive anything else as nothing appealed to me. Subaru have lost me with the current liberty.

Dealer confirmed build week 5 today so next week and from what i've read probably another 2-3 months before arrival, can't wait now.

I did drive a superb diesel as i wanted to at least try the diesel but a quick squirt in the TSI RS confirmed i wasn't ready for a diesel yet, my wife has a diesel pug so the garage is green enough.

Looking forward to joining the Skoda community, supporting and learning more about the brand and the best bit helping the team tow the kart trailer around the state.

    cheers pete

Welcome to our little Skoda world
Nice choice on the colour too . Did you get it from Steve Jarvin at Burwood? Great dealer with very personable salespeople, especially Matt, but make sure that everything they say was done in services. But great choice and I look forward to the pics when it finally arrives

      Another Skoda in Sydney!

      Excellant news!

Agree completely re the Liberty - i test drove one fitted with the sports package - it was okay but just felt big - wasn't entirely sold on the interior either - do people actually want faux carbon fibre in their car interior ... really? And when I asked the dealer if this could be reverted back to standard trim, he was incredulous - he wasn't sure why i would even ask let alone want to.

        Blue is the "hero" colour.

        White is understated.

our last car was white and we had it for 9 years or so, so we were looking for something different. The sales guys at Burwood said the white looks pretty good and offsets the black grill.

i've seen people match the grill surround (currently chromed) to match the paint but i was thinking it would look good matt black to match the grill itself.

i am partial to the black on white contrasting eg blacks wheels, black grill and details on a white paint job

does the red look good in the flesh?

I am going to try that out myself - I have a spare grille, surround, Skoda badge and some matt black vinyl waiting for me to muster up the energy (just finished polishing and sealing both my vehicles - big job).

These two statements are not incompatible .......... ie both could be true

It is interesting to see all the different preferences on colour, and even more interesting to listen to peoples stated reasons for choosing a colour. Very few will admit the major reason is really "Coz I like this particular colour better than all the others".

I got the strong message from my wife that we couldn't have the same colour as any of our previous cars. That excludes white, yellow, metallic green (don't ask!) and silver. Black was definitely out of the question, which left red, anthracite and blue.

Blue was the first car RS I saw in the showroom that grabbed my attention straight away. Thought about anthracite but couldn't actually see one in the flesh. Which just left the blue - although I slightly regretted my choice when I saw K1W1's photos on Flickr... Oh well, the order is in, I liked the colour in the flesh so I expect it will grow on me.

No "yellow" is for those with the onset of dementia and cant remember just where in the car park they left their car.

One of my neighbours gets a new work car every 14-18 months and the only thing his wife insists on is that the new one is a different colour from the old one so the neighbours all know that Greg has a new car.

BTW Anthracite is obviously the best colour for a vRS but there are only a select few of us who know that.

Funny about colours , my first test drive in rs was banana yellow , i felt so stupid , everyone is looking .

Now i see it on street looks cool , what it needs is black mags aka megane .

Ended up with black same as last two cars , stealth or something in the mind .

Guy near my home has blue wow it does stand out cant miss it , like the r32 in blue .

Check out the golf mark 6 in that cool new red , looks very smart , thats colour always something better .
