RS Wagon Prices

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of getting an RS Petrol DSG Wagon (Race Blue). The current price I have from the dealer is about 45K, this includes on-roads (I am in QLD). The car has no added options.

Basically this is the price break down:

Standard Car $41790
Metallic Paint $630
OnRoad Costs $4665
$2000 Free Accesories $0

TOTAL $47085

So basically only getting a $2000 discount... Can anybody tell me where I may be able to get a better deal??? I dont think 2K is much of a discount... but I maybe wrong.

The car I am looking at is on its way and will be here in Aus in Jan/Feb. So it is not on the showroom floor.

Have you shopped around?
When I bought my last two VW's, I went through a broker.
He did all the running around for me and saved me over 9K.

Do your own homework first and research the going sales. Once you are ready to buy (on the day), go in to the dealer that feels right to you and make the deal. Alternatively you may use a broker (no cost to you) and see what they have to offer.

In WA they have the pre face lifted models on sale for 36k drive away ( sedans DSG) . I offered 34k and didn't even get a look in. Looks like I may have to pay the advertised price or miss out unless a broker can do any better.

Tell them they re dreaming after some bargaining I got exactly the same car for $41,500 drive away. I paid no extra for bendy lights and front park. Skoda want the cars out there on the road. Its the best advertising they can get by having the cars out there.
Play the dealers off against each other and you ll get a good deal especialy this time of year.

Richmond Skoda had a very similar spec wagon on the floor on Tuesday (leather trim I think). I'm not sure whether it was sold but it could be worth a call.

Yes antiplas is correct hold out and bargin hard , got mine off floor 08/08 $4k off , times were harder then i suppose , they were selling about 50 octavias a month .

Very happy with the car thats the main issue , drives A1 .

The one I saw on Tuesday was blue it's gone now so I guess it was waiting for delivery. There is an Anthacite vRS sedan with a DSG on the floor unsold.

Looks like George has been run off his feet this week, since every time I called his mobile I would get a txt saying he was finishing up a delivery

There are deals to be done...... I was in the right place at the right time when I wanted to buy my pre update yellow RS hatch. I rolled out the door with a price I still cant believe. The factory rebate had quite a part to play too, then add fleet, my trade, and the dealer being quite flexible. Just have to look around is all.
