FL RS DRLs - watch out for the cops

Spotted this article on carsales.com.au today.

Cops are mistaking DRLs as fog lamps? Surely they are educated of the changes that manufacturers make to cars which are ADR approved. My wife was once flashed by the cops in her GTI probably because they thought her bi-xenons were high beams. She just kept going and ignored them - they didn't turn around and chase after her or anything. I hope she doesn't get the same treatment when we get into a new RS with DRLs next year.

I don't think cops are going to pull someone over with the LED strip running lights as they are clearly not fog lamps. As for people who drive with the fog lamps on all the time, ironically the HSVs they mention there, they don't put them in for safety but rather for the "look at me, I'm a wanker" factor.
