Had the 30,000km service today. I was quoted $415 but it came in at $309, and that's including the optional car wash and vacuum (yes, I know I'm lazy). Brakes are still good. Apparently, the tyres are wearing evenly so they didn't bother rotating them (which would have cost me $29 more).
where do u get ur car serviced in canberra?

Had my 45k service done at Richmond Audi/Skoda. Wasn't sure what to expect since it was the first time i'd been there since Zagame had taken over.

I must say that I'm very impressed with them and their attitude. I mentioned that the rear left door would squeak when i'd go over bumps. They not only put some lube on the seals they adusted the door so it would sit tighter, and now the squeaking is gone.

45k service cost me $371.00. They mentioned that my next service which will be 60k will cost around the $800 mark.

Yep, except if your 60k lands on 4 yrs like mine will, which adds another $1200 to change the timing belt. I'm guessing anyone with the FL won't have to worry about that with the timing chain.

In the older diesels (PD?) it was apparently normal to change the water pump at the same time as they had a habit of starting to fall apart at around that time (4 years).
Question is, has the CR diesel with the timing chain have a more reliable water pump. If not the implications are not user friendly.

I think some of the earlier CR diesels have rubber bands as well. I'm fairly sure mine (Oct 09 build) does.

Our RS is due for a 30K service at the moment, does anybody have any suggestions where to go in Melbourne? Mentone have shut their dealer, Brighton apparently don't start operating until February. I'm thinking Doncaster may be the best option at the moment...

What have people been paying for 30K services recently?

Any issue with Richmond, I find them fine. I saw the new one at Doncaster the other day, prime position. I don't understand the Brighton one though from Zagames, I would have thought somewhere GW would be better, Brighton has the wank factor that Zagames is used to I guess.

Might be a bit far to drive for a service!
Richmond was fine for us last year but the price and convenience helped me choose Volkstech

just had mine done y'day at essendon. price was $515 with pollen filter but not brake fluid as they forgot to check brake fluid they will do this for free given I have to come back. normal price is $65.

mechanic is borrowed from VW but was very pleasant and was respectful of my questions/concerns. RRP for servicing is expensive compared to specialists who are around $400 all up.

around the corned I noticed a workship VolksRepairs not sure if this is a panel beater, will try and google them

And Volkstech is too far for me - didn't realise this thread was Vic specific!

But for Sydneysiders, VWVillage was fine at a good price for the 30k service. It was also interesting to go through the parts list and see what from where in the VW range fitted the Skoda.

Noticed the other day there is a new Skoda dealer at Roseberry (I assume the old Mitsubishi site at 1 Link Road?). ANyone heard of them?
