Young ADAM said that the pollen filter change at 30k wasn't necessary ..leave it till major 45K service.

Fair enough - just it's a $30 part if replaced.

You;ll have the service I've been dreading for a few years now thats happening in Nov this year for me, $800 of Major service plus $1200 of belt replacement goodness (4yrs or 90k whichever first).

Still a bit miffed as the new engine was being used by the time I bought mine but the dealer told me the only difference was in the interior.....yep only difference, plus the fact there is a chain that never needs looking at in reality....bastards

I think the TDIs are all still belt driven. It's only the TSI ( EA888 ) that are chain driven...

What have people been paying for 30K services recently?

Also had a boot mat fitted (Wow. >.<) and front window shields mounted at Allan Mackay Auto's in Moss Vale. Pretty damned fast fit, actually.
All in all took about an hour, half of which was my waiting around for all the morning services to get finished so I could have a spot.

Just rang Lance Dixon Doncaster Skoda for a 30K service price, and was quoted $680-$720...

I told them what I thought of that, and told him it should be more like $400, and he said, no, that's what the first service would have cost...Time to try Zagames....

Be surprised if you get a quote south of $600 from a dealer. Much less from an independent though. Richmond (Zagame) charged me enough for 30k to send me searching for someone else to look after it. I'll get a quote from them for 45k, but I expect to be suitably unimpressed.

30k is a major one, but paid around $500 plus the brake fluid change at Richmond from memory. I had the 45k not that long ago, it wasn't too bad, but had gone up $100 since Zagames took over.

Also should add, at the time Richmond were the cheapest. Now that Mentone and Bayfords are gone, they have added extra to all their costs. They should realise new buyers and existing will start talking if the services are more than the equivalent VW service, and Skoda will get a rep for being pricey to service. In reality the RS should be cheaper than a GTi, but reality has been the opposite.

OK looked back through the thread, found 1 member who had the service from a Vic dealer at just over $500 (Mentone, now gone). The rest in Vic were in the range of approx $560 to $720 actual or quoted. Mine was toward the high end of that with no sufficient explanation hence (with a few other issues) I started to look past Richmond.

Does anybody know if Mobile Car Care are any good? Just got a quote off them for $335, including oil & pollen filter.
