Has anyone fitted lock nuts to an Octavia RS? I tried to get some through my dealer the other day and he said they weren't able to get lock nuts for the Skoda.
Just interested if anyone else has fitted any and if so what did you get

The RS doesn't come with locknuts? (the Elegance does)
Um it comes with them already.....take a look at your toolkit and you'll find the special adaptor...be warned the nuts have little plastic caps on them that look like they are just the nuts.....fooled me until someone mentioned them and went looking.
I'd be slightly concerned that your dealer didn't know such a basic (and easily checked) fact.
Be aware that the std VAG locking nuts aren't really that secure, IIRC there are only about 16 variants, and some low lifes have gone to the trouble of acquiring all 16.

Variant # is written on the base of the bolt (incase you need a new adaptor nut) - I thought there were 9 but 16 sounds good too.

I'm never surprised what dealers say, the reason I went with Richmond Skoda is because they actually knew something, the FT Gully guys knew nothing, which is weird as by accident I've discovered somethere has made a Skoda website with far more info the the corporate Australian one....
I've had a few conversations with sales guys, originally at Mazda where they don't know even the basic features about a car. When I ask why, they complain and say well there are all these models...usually though no more than 8 types with variants within.....when they pull the BS excuse I tell them what I do, and that I have to remember intricate details of 2500+ products and know technically how they work....
Recently at a Mazda dealer I used to use, I was in the showroom waiting for someone and saw and heard two sales guys tell an 18 yr old (whose dad was buying him a brand new car no less), that he couldn't have an RX-8 cause the power was too high. About 70% of all sales of them are the auto version which is perfectly legal and under a Mazda 6 in power......so he moved onto selling him a Mazda 3....I could have stepped in, but that sales tool has been there for year and if he was stupid enough to botch a sale of a 50k car over a 22k car...then I'm not going to stop him.

Look at the bright side - you may have helped save a couple of teenager's lives (obviously the teenager wasn't that bright, or he would have known what was legal and what wasn't - I certainly would have done my research before shopping)

The dude looked 28, I was surprised when he said he was 18, slightly surprised when his Dad said he was buying him a car, and just angry when the guy started almost crying when he was told he couldn't have an RX-8...he knew nothing about them, and then had a sook anyway.
Well probably should have looked myself before posting
Pretty bad that I had both the head of service and the spare parts guy tell me they couldn't get lock nuts of any type for the wheels.
Picked up my new (yellow FL RS) last Friday, and all of a sudden had a thought about my wheels disappearing. Hmm...anyway, tracked down this thread, but after removing all wheel bolt covers, discovered - no lock nuts! Is this now standard on the FL alloys, or has something been missed? Am I missing something?
I do *not* have the adaptor in my tool kit, so it would seem to be "on purpose" so to speak, but was wondering if anyone else with a FL Octavia (esp the RS) is in the same situation, or not, before I call my dealer and ask what gives.
To be honest mine was supposed to have them as it was listed as a feature, but I've never pulled off the caps to check.
Have you got a key ? It should be in with the jack etc on top of the spare. It looks a bit like a socket but with a weird pattern where it goes over the bolt.
I checked that my (pre-FL) vRS had the key AND that the key fitted all 4 locking bolts before I drove off when I picked mine up. I figured it might be slightly awkward if I had a flat tyre and couldn't get it off to put the spare on.

I don't think that the face lift vRS models come with locking wheel nuts. I can't find any evidence of them being fitted on mine and the manual indicates that they are optional.
Nope - checked the tool kit. No key. I guess if Kiwi didn't get one either, then the FLs dont' get them (It's not specifically listed in the specs, and I made the mistake of assuming that since the pre-FLs had them the FL would too...)
So, that leads to the next question - is there anywhere that would have the bolt sizes listed? I couldn't see them in the manual, and it would be nice to avoid having to pull one off and measure it myself. Also, any recommendations as to where would be a good place to order from/go to to get locking nuts?

it's written on the wall at home & I'm at work but 12mm x 1.5(thread pitch) rings a bell. You can buy them off Skoda spares - they aren't OTT pricewise (not in the UK anyway) Should also be able to get the plastic covers (the locknuts have a different cover).
Look in the Gold MKV section - somebody bought some there & mentions part #s & prices. Possibly in the "What did you do to your MKV" thread.
