Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Missing features after service

    Hi,

Recently got the steering wheel lock assembly fixed on my 09 Octavia vRS as it broke. Since getting the car back I've noticed 2 things:

    a) the convenience indicators have stopped working. Used to be able to tap it and it would blink 3 times, now it doesn't.

    b) the info panel shows when the car is in park as "P" but when you move it to reverse it shows "R" briefly before disappearing. Then when driving it doesn't show off you are in D or S mode, where it used to show D1, D2 etc.

Could the replacement unit installed be to blame, if it came from an earlier model it similar?

Could something have not been wired up correctly?

I've tried resetting factory settings through the info panel but that hasn't helped.

    Thanks
Working...
