The new one doesn't do it for me. I'm glad I bought now.

Sorry about the confusion, the front of the facelifted Octavia looks identical to the face of the new Superb...

Whats the torque though? Knowing VW they'll have a good 200nm from 1800+, if thats the case it shouldn't be a problem, it won't be fast but it won't struggle either.

It's more power than the 1.9TDI.

I'd guess they will dump the 2.0NA and replace it with the 1.4L with DSG.

Well Golf sized cars have had that engine output in the past so I'm sure its adequate but not exactly a performance car.

I'd pick the 1.8TSI due to the rave reviews its getting in the Scirocco, Passat & Audi models.

The new front looks a bit Mercedes-ish to me (good thing!). I don't mind it too much, they should have stuck closer to the concept drawings!!

????? What about the reviews it gets in the current Octavia??

Then again, I didn't know it was available in the Passat.

Yeah, I agree. They should have ditched the 2.0NA for the 1.8T. That engine is great. I nearly forewent the RS because of the drive in the wagon. Great engine.

However, IIRC VW are using the 1.4 for the new Golf range as its biggest engine below the GTI, so it makes sense that Skoda follow.
                                Euro look 2... Mk2 love!
