Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Is there an AWD version of the RS in other parts of the world?

    Is that true?

Is there an AWD version of the RS available?

Does it also have more power out of the EA888 engine? Perhaps something to rival the 206kw Golf R...

Would that model ever come to Australia?

If so, I would certainly buy one!

The closest thing you can get in Australia is either a Golf R Wagon or Skoda Superb 206TSI Sportline.

I know they did a Diesel AWD RS, not sure if it ever comes to Australia though.

Apparently neither is as lively as the RS or GTI equivalent. The AWD must have dull the driving experience a bit (bigger body in the case of Skoda).

If you have axle tramping issue, upgrading the subframe mount(pendulum arm, dogbone insert etc) reduce this significantly.

For more power, there's always stage 3...
