  • Used parts or interchangeable parts

    Hello All,

So I have the opportunity at work to pick up a Kodiaq, only sticking point is it's damaged and needs repair.

Does anybody know of a Skoda specific wrecker? or a source for used parts? OR if any of the parts are interchangeable from the Tiguan? (E.g. Suspension, engine etc...)

Slim chances I know but thought I'd ask.

    Cheers

Camden GTI Performance at Campbelltown have a small VW wrecking yard, they might be able to help you. I might need to hit them up for some parts for a 96 Vento soon

There aren't really that many Kodiaqs around either, supply is still limited.

          Yeah figured that

Need a door, guard and some suspension bits. Was hoping the Tiguan might be a suitable replacement for at least the suspension goodies.

Do you mind sharing what you ended up doing? I'm assuming you just ordered the spare parts in.

On closer examination there was no suspension damage

So our estimated cost of repairs went from say $10, down to about $4 which allowed us to just buy new parts within budget. Vehicle is in the process of being repaired as I speak, well type...

And I must say, I was very impressed with the overall refinement on the interior. Well done Skoda

Sorry should clarify, preliminary inspection does not appear to have any suspension damage but our repairer is organizing a wheel alignment to confirm.

You can first confirm the specific damaged area. While some chassis, suspension, and engine parts are indeed interchangeable between the Kodiaq and Tiguan, it's best to compare the original manufacturer's serial numbers. Used parts can be found at scrap metal dealerships or through specialized channels. As for tow trucks, they are generally universal and not necessarily Skoda-specific.

By the way, at HLC, we specialize in precision parts manufacturing and can also provide support if you require custom or replacement metal parts later.
