  • Mark IV Golf Whiteline rear anti-roll bar on Roomster

For all those people modifying their Roomsters, the Whiteline rear anti-roll bar for the Mark IV Golf is a direct bolt-on fit to the Roomster.

(That this bar may fit is often mentioned but seldom actually confirmed.)

I've just done it - very easy fitment.

    random as!
I'd imagine its because whiteline bars are a bit generic...
Does it use the same end links as the mk4?

Not really random - rear suspension of Roomster is based on Mk IV Golf. But this fitment helps confirm that. Total kit bolts on with no changes at all.

        The outcome is unambiguously positive.

I hope my daughter never reads your threads julian. She so wants a Roomster for her first car.

Roomster would be a very good first car, I think. Safe, economical, practical... also weird, ugly, a talking point!

But actually further to the rear anti-roll bar.

I don't think I have ever driven a car where a single mechanical suspension change has so transformed the car. Better turn in (high sped and low), better outright grip, better ride quality too I think (less roll accelerations).

just watch the snap oversteer - i had the exact same bar on my mk4 and it was great at low speeds. At higher speed it can get a little unpredictable

Thanks for that but I've thrown it around a bit and it does seem fine. It will trail throttle oversteer on dirt on turn-in but on bitumen it seems pretty settled.
