  • Superb not Spotted

Had my Superb for 6 months now and have never spotted another on the roads in the SE suburbs of Melbourne...Haven't decided if that is a good thing or not....

Hmm come to think of it, I've only spotted one since I've had my Octavia and that was since Feb this year. I've actually seen an increasing number of Octavia's though.

      • I didn't see a Superb on the road until I had mine for the first weekend. In two blocks of road travel in Geelong on a Saturday afternoon I saw one turn right a few cars (White Sedan) in front of me and then at the next sets of lights I was waiting to turn left and I looked across the intersection to see a silver wagon waiting to turn right. Then I pulled into a Service Station to grab some fuel and as I finished filling up a silver sedan pulled in to use the car wash. So from going six months without seeing one I was suddenly surrounded by them lol.

I saw a white Superb wagon at lunchtime today pulling out of one of the side streets onto the main street where I grab lunch. The white on the wagon looks quite good.

        • Driving to Sth Melbourne this morning and saw a facelifted 90 or 118tsi Octavia and a superb wagon. Nice.

          • I saw 4 Octavias today in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney)

2 Wagons (both white RS) and 2 Sedans (1 pre face lift and 1 face lift).

            Didn't feel special anymore.

            • OK, here's a few sightings that are a bit out of the ordinary.

I was in Jordan last week. On the drive from the airport into Amman we were overtaken by a green-ish Octavia pre-FL liftback. And on a walk around the city one afternoon, I saw a silver one and then a silver wagon. My work colleague thought I was crazy when I went over to have a look at them!

I then had 24 hours in Beirut. Lot's of fancy cars and I thought I might miss out on a Skoda sighting but I saw a pre-FL Octavia wagon - unfortunately, it wasn't exactly in well-loved condition.

Now that I'm in Geneva, there are more around including the Fabia - both a hatchback and wagon today.

              • Spotted my first Fabia vRS last weekend in Lucerne/Luzern (Switzerland). I'm not fussed with the two-tone paint (black car, white roof) but I did like the white wheels.

fairly dirty pre-FL 1.8TSI with like a mesh style wheel? The guy driving had longish (bottom of collar) hair? They are 18"s but lower profile than an RS. The guy runs the Macarthur Lifestyle magazine.

                    • Reluctantly sold the Black Roomster, (or as the offspring named it The Pet Hearse), and delivered it to the new owner just off Parramatta Rd in Sydney. Wife picked me up and as we drove around the corner from its new home the first thing coming the other way was a Red Roomster!

hey gents, for lack of a Skoda general discussion thread (that I can find at least), I just wanted to let y'all know about this in case anyone here happens to be a graphic artist, and of course if you want to put your name down for a sticker/decal when it's ready for printing.

                          • Looks like Skoda has sold one to the NSW government. Saw a NSW Ambulance Octavia wagon heading west through Wentworth Falls this afternoon.

The Ambulance service have many Scouts as the kind of emergency response cars that Foresters are used for. Great car if you ask me for the job, especially as they're now available in DSG!

Yeah, I saw one down at Goulburn back in July last year, although it was an area command vehicle rather than a rapid responder.
