Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

am in Bris area but post would be easy
have most of the 1.8 eng parts from a 95 Cordoba plus many matching front body parts..
there is a rubber tube from carb to the intake manifold which can cause running probs if perished!

That was actually the first thing to get replaced as the old hose was pretty well ruined.
I have not however, checked over the other vacuum hoses, nor done any gaskets or seals.
I actually need to get a few parts for the old girl, so you'll be hearing from me!

Was about to turn you down, but a tow bar could be handy to carry bikes with (plus I work for a Thule dealership).
Any modifications needed to get it on?

Back into it today, replaced two sections of vacuum hose. One piece had something in it. If this doesn't fix it, I guess it's new carby time.

So, it's a little bit better, but not perfect. It idles fine, then will sit back (and only run rough) at 750rpm.
Any throttle input improves it greatly.

A couple of video links for reference as to what it's like.

Any suggestions as to what's going on?

It's been a while, but the more I think about it, the more I want to get it sorted myself.
Anyone on here have a link to a repair manual, or have any personal advice with these?
It seems like its running lean, but there seems like there's no way to adjust anything as it's all electronically controlled.
