gearbox swap

ended up being left with wreck and thanks to no insurance $2000 (see earlier post).
looks like my car has a blown clutch. i may be able to pick up a 1.6 litre seat cheap and need to know if the gearbox is the same before i purchase it?

otherwise the wreck is for sale if u are still interested loon.

i am townsville qld if anyone else is interested. open to offers

The 1.6 has a different gearbox to your 2L mate.
Please confirm that the car is a GTI.

You can change the clutch pretty easy. A new one is around $350 plus fitting.

That doesnt look too bad mate, easy repairer in my book.
I`d have every piece you need to get it repaired if you want mate.
If not, Id probably buy the wreck and repair it.

yeah its a gti, driving a corrolla at the moment and have a torana that i am in the middle of doing up so i would rather put the cash into it. motor is fine and besides what you can see its not bad conidition. has an xplode cd which i'll leave in it. from what i have heard transport is pretty cheap going south. i can get hold of a car trailer and get it to a depot
i'll get you some more pics if your keen loon. chasing $500 for it.

clutch seemed to be a lot better when i drove it onto the car trailer, so hopefully that has fixed itself. gonna miss the seat, when i finnish my torana and get bored with it i may try get hold of a golf mk4 so i will keep haunting the forums. i just bought a worked gen3 5.7ltr vx ss bombadore so 2 v8s is a bit overkill.
