Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 1995 Ibiza (bitza) parts reference

    Ok guys and girls

I been driving the bitza (as I call it) for a while now as a daily and it is a great car. I have had Mk1s and a Mk2 golfs, I drive a T5 for work and use the bitza to get to work and home again so I think I have the VAG virus. But my real question is with the bitza which parts is related too which other VAG car

This is what I think Engine and gearbox MK3 Golf 2l 8v
    Gearbox MK3 Golf
    Dash Polo
    Suspension front MK3 Golf
    Suspension rear ??? Polo
    Doors MK3 (2door of course)
    External Mirrors MK3
    Brakes MK3 front and rear

Any information on which spare parts bin (ebay) to look for would be great. Or if we could start a reference list that would be also good

Engine, CL Mk3, Gearbox, Mk3 CL, Polo Dash, Rear Suspensiion Polo and will fit Mk1s, Front Suspension sames as Mk2, including track width, wishbones, driveshafts and brakes. There are a few brake setups out there.
Doors are unique, even regs are different between Golfs and Seats.
External mirrors also dont fit Mk3s.
Rear Brakes are a good upgrade for Mk1ers.
Seats will fit Golf and Polo. Radiator will fit Mk3s.
All in all the universal donor, or a damn good cheap car.
