  • Airbag issue

So i've got the cupra back together after the pedal box rebuild but now i've got the airbag warning light on.

After putting the steering wheel back on the horn would beep whenever I went to full lock, i found that the slipring on the back of the wheel had not locked in place & that the airbag cable cover was sitting proud on a small brass looking clip so I put it under the clip & the horn slip ring locked down in place. The horn doesn't beep any more at full lock but now the airbag fail light comes on about a second after the start up test is finished.

I've tried different combinations with the horn slipring but I can't get the light to extinguish. I'm pretty sure that when it first went back together the airbag was fine, just the horn issue.

could this just be a vag.com issue?

    Any ideas?

    Phil

Is there a magic combination of button selections to reset?

I have a VAG COM cable and software. Im sure the old basic/demo ones sold on ebay for like $10 or so can read and reset fault codes. Also a standard OBDII cable would do it
