Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     Hi all
    Im looking at buying an alarm for my 1995 glx Cordy...would any alarm be ok...i have central locking(but the locking mechanism pin or whatever it is that turns the barrel broke off and my key wont go in the lock anymore and the passenger lock has never worked so my car is unlockable...by the way will i need to get a new key/lock or can it be fixed?)back to the alarm im probably going to buy a new one from ebay as they are cheaper then any instore...do i need to be aware of any features within the alarm that wont work with my car or will i be fine with any i pick?
