Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    window regulator thread??? help

    Hi there my drvrs window is stuck in DOWN just now when we have had 3 days of RAIN

    any ideas, threads, links??
    just the 1 cable seems to have come undone

    guess its the up one??

    tried fiddling but now jammed down

    and RAINING.pls hlp me

      The clips or guides that hold the cable in place break and so it then unravels.

      It is two cables carefully threaded together around the motor .

      You can waste many fruitless hours buggering around with the regs but without spares, it is usually pointless.

        can you get the clips here as in vw or spares from Europe\pls

          You cant buy just the clips, only the complete mechanism and only overseas.

            Golf loon is right mate notorious fault and they still to this day insist on plastic guides!!! Good money spinner for them mate.
