Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Remote Central Locking Ibiza GTi Cupra

    Hi All,

    I am starting to get to know my new little beast and enjoying it very much. I am however getting a little annoyed at having to use my key to unlock (and lock) her...especially when it is dark (I don't want to scratch it any more than it already is!). Does anyone know if these Cupras were supposed to come with remote central locking? If so, how do I get a remote for my car?

    I took mine to a local car sound place called Sound in Motion. They fitted an after market remote system for just under $200.00.

        Mine came with 2 standard keys & 1 remote fob that operates the central locking.

          I always wondered if the car came with a remote... the guys at CVWC Belconnen might be able to tell you?

            Thanks Cupra99, sorry about the quick hello the other day! Was deep in conversation about the Cupra and didn't/couldn't think quickly enough! I'll probably give them a call tomorrow.
