The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • 96 SEAT Cordoba...LOST KEY!

    Hey all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone could help with getting my car started...
I bought it at auction as an abandoned car, cheap, and it came with no keys.

I got keys cut to open the doors, but, to start the car i need an immobiliser activator in the key chip. I have NO idea how to do this as i took the car to a VW dealer and they said they could NOT get the code from the immobiliser to program the key chip!

Is there anyway i can do this? or a way to somehow bypass the immobiliser?

There are no SEAT dealers in Australia, and it makes things VERY tough... especially since i cant speak Spanish!

Hope you can help me out. Would be VERY much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

I cant help with coding that key, BUT I can send you a coded ecu, ignition barell and switch, immobilizer and doorlocks.
If you put all of that in, the car will start.
I`d want $300 for the full kit.

thinkin a good vw dealer will take the vin nr (maybe on old rego sticker)
or some paperwork ie owners manual ??? doubt

but they could find the code and prob sell u 2 keys for same as Loon but less work!!

Keys are easy starting is problemo.

I have a 95 you could have the 2 keys and locks but no remote locking ie
no immobiliser and u would have to cut some of ure wires off the ecu..???

        check all ure options
german - english translations esp vw documents!!

Cheers mate. Just called up VW head office in Sydney, they were suprised to hear about a SEAT, but, was then referred to 2 possible service centres in Victoria - where i am. The first one ended up being a Greek cafe... the second one - in Geelong - was bought out by Subaru, and the guys wanted nothing to do with or hear about SEAT cars. Even though they still service VW's, and i TOLD them the Cordoba had a Polo engine...

Loon - if i purchase this package from you, does it come with keys? or do i have to purchase new keys and then programme them to the new immobiliser? Which im presuming will have a key encoding number provided?

Thanks all for being an awesome help.

Loon - Can or do you import new original SEAT car keys - with central locking/Immobiliser chip inside etc? that would suit my 96 Cordoba?

IT NEEDS TO BE CODED BY A SEAT DEALER. There are none in Australia.
The easiest solution is that I have already suggested to you.
