Cupra Stickers

Hi all

When the first Cupras came out, they had some decals on each door up high near the wing mirrors, I think "Cupra" with a chequered flag graphic in red, white and yellow. They also had a monstrous "16V" sticker on the bottom of the rear quarters ahead of the wheels.

I note that most of the Cupras I've seen on here and for sale have dispensed with some or all of the stickers. Although I reckon the 16V one is a bit chavvy and 90s, the "Cupra" door graphic is a bit more discreet and looks pretty cool.

So the question is..

1. Did all 52 Cupras come with the stickers or did everyone just dump them?
2. Is there anywhere you can still get them?
3. Why can't I find any UK/Euro cars with them?

And if the answer to Q2 is "they are made of unobtanium" - does anyone know of a car that still has them? I'd like to take some highres pics and turn it into a vector graphic and maybe get some reproduced.

Oh.. Yeah I don't have a Cupra yet. But one day soon I will, and i want my Cupra stickers damnit.

Yeah, they're all for later Cupras though, the ones we never got out here.

The '99 Cupra stickers are quite unique.

Matt (golf Loon) put an ad up not long ago for a customers cupra, still had all the stickers I believe.

Maybe he has some pics floating around, or even the blokes number, so you can buy the car and no have to worry about getting stickers made!

Here's what they look like - only photo I could find of them. Everyone else seems to have ditched them or never had them. I wonder if the Bengal cars had different stickers. No idea what the writing imposed over the toip of the 16 is.

Dealers would remove them if buyers wanted, they all came to oz with them. Im sure you could find em try ebay uk or cupra.net

Those stickers still have part numbers against them in VAGCAT.com. Have you tried ordering them through a dealer?

Thanks guys, thats been really helpful. Seems the Yellow cars do have a different colour sticker.

Speaking of yellow.... How good does it look on them. That pic makes me weak at the knees.

No it never belonged to anzacbiscuit.
I know of 3 yellow cupras in Oz, 2 in Brissie and one at Liverpool in Sydney
