I wonder if the pump inside the fuel tank has come loose and is bumping around in there? Thats the only reason I can think that it might be doing that.

Replace the fuel pump all surging issues gone. The original pump had been played with and was noisy in operation in comparison to the the replacement. Thanks Camden GTI for part and quick delivery.

is there a possible fuel pickup issue with this model, more evident on less than 1/2 of tank of fuel.
