Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just get a piece of wire with a spade connection on both ends plug one end into the top (1) then the other end into right (2) the fan should come on then jump the wires from right (2) then the other end into the left (3) with the key turned to on (not engine running just accessories)
Thermo fan switch connector in hand and looking at it should look like this:
    |
    one
    | |
    three two

I remember seeing a few relays under the steering wheel area when I installed the afr gauge on my a3 8l, they are behind the panel between the pedals and the steering wheel, might be worth checking what they are? Good luck

Yeah I have looked at them but no one can confirm what is what, there are also some on the bulkhead in the engine bay and then I am sure there is another one up under the cowling where the ecu is also
