Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • My10 q7 3.0 tdi

    Hey Folks,

    Have been offered a MY10 Q7 3.0 TDI. Done ~60k kms.

Is there anything I should be cautious of? Known issues etc?

Haven't been here in quite a while, and feel like a Newbie.
I now have a 2010/11 Q7 TDI and so far the worst thing is, that the door rubber rolls a bit if I cannot open the door enough when exiting.
It pops small White clips. If they break they're $2.00 ea.
    What else?
Genuine spares are well & Truly marked up.
I purchase for a VW Touareg - Same Part number but more $$$$ when I ask for it for an Audi
Looking to do much/most of the servicing, myself.

      Gday Mr.B ,

      I had a 2010 3.0TDI q7 for about 10months. Great Car.
Slight creaking noise in the sunroof over large speedhumps/driveway entries.

Turns out a very minor coating of "Gummi Pflege" over the rubbers sorted it out. (I used the Einszett stuff in a stick and my fingers)

Great car BTW, i woiuld very much have another one!
