Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just saw this thread. I owned this car about 3 or 4 years ago and rebuilt everything. I lent it to my parents and my Mum said is was the nicest straightest little car she had ever driven. Then I sold it to Alex G and now look at it.
Keep up the good work, it looks sick.sigpic Camden GTI Performance. VW / AUDI Specialists

decided to move back in to town so i'm closer to the action on my time off. good thing i had the roof bars on the little a3...
turned it in to a real work horse, i didn't fancy trying full boost with that on the top though...
got myself moved in and tried the car in its new home. really don't like leaving it outside and now thinking of selling it, boo...

some minor updates, been a bit tied up moving house at the mo. excuse the poop iphone pics, finally installed my red lit air vents...
probably a bit ott but at least it all matches and hopefully looks oem...
just need to get the sunroof switch fitted now...
all that is left to fit is my dead pedal cover from a tt, my piano black door inserts from an s3 and thats the interior finished...

can you tell me more about the installation of this piece, it will correctly?

I tinker a A3 and I miss this piece I had in my passat!
it's not a straight swap and bit tricky to fit right, i still need to finish it off. the red down lights are wired to come on with the side lights but the plug for the sunroof is different so need to rewire that.
i'll post more info up as i finish it, cheers

with recent hot weather i started to notice my air con was a bit intermitant and with the help of google i tracked it down to a dodgy thermostat. a new one was promptly purchased...
once the old one was FINALLY removed it was clear to see it wasn't in that good shape...
and i am never doing one of these again. if it didn't take long enough to remove it certainly took long enough to install the new one. i also left the majority of the skin from my knuckles on the engine block and ancillaries. next up is a complete coolant flush and refill with genuine oem audi g13 coolant...
