  • Audi engine specs

Hi all.... I've been looking for specs on a engine which I think is out of an 1.9 Audi 80. The engine number starts with the prefix SD. I been searching around a while and can't find much at all. Can anybody help or point me in the right direction. The more info the better.... Thanks...Geoff

That is from the Audi 80, 1.9 litre 83kw/113hp. Fitted between 87 and 88.

    Not much else on ETKA.

    What info were you after?

Hi ..... Thanks very much for that Gavin. I'm thinking this is the 10:1 or there abouts comp ratio engine that I see listed in Audi 80's around that year. I'll do some more searching. If any more info comes to hand I would appreciate it ....... Cheers ...... Geoff

Jmac ..... I don't think it's a diesel as it had been fitted into a Mk 1 Golf running on petrol before I bought it. Can you check that again for me ..... Cheers ..... Geoff

Oops SB is the diesel, Sd is KeJet, ah well same goes cut teeth on them all in that era, my bad. Both fitted to 80, and guess what the SB diesel was a 1.6. Ah well thats what i get for being quick to jump They engines numbers are still installed in my head, mind you would be hard not too when the dealership was doing 60 plus audis and dubs a day.
            Sorry for the bum steer,

Hi .... Jmac that's cool, had me going for a moment there. I was hoping to find info on things like valve sizes, length of conrods, camshaft specs. It didn't come with the original dissy so any info on dissy stuff would be of interest.
I was hoping to come across info some where that told me everything there was to know about it. I'm running a 77 Golf rally car and I have to run the original block and head castings and I'm thinking about whether I could use the guts of this in a 1.6 block. Any thoughts would be good. Cheers .. Geoff

As far as I know Geoff, it's the same rod length as a 1.8, it just has a wider bore to increase the capacity from 1.8 to 1.9. That's what I've been told, (or read before)

Jarred thats right mate, the rods are same as RU which is a 1.8 and the rods are the same as PM, its a 1.8 too. As for the dissy , there should plenty of them around. Part numbers 026905237BX, AX are what you are looking for, these fit RU,PM and SD, i also think the dissy from the DZ would fit too
Make sure its from that same era, hall sender and 4 windows in dissy
I also think a dizzy from a Golf may do ill check that
                    Cheers
