  • Audi Key

Hi my father recently acquired a Audi A4 2002 B6 Quattro. The previous owner has lost the flick fob key, I have been looking on ebay, dose anyone know if this would work on the Australian spec models.

    Cheers

It's very important to get the right part number key and transmitter. You will probably be able to get the remote locking to work if you have VAG-COM but Audi will need to be involved to code the immobiliser to the car.

I would think it easier to go in with the chassis number to Audi and have them get the correct key ordered in. Alternatively if you just want a spare key to get in in an emergency then just have Audi get you a fixed key and have that coded for the immobiliser.

Yeah, Audi dealer's are asking ridiculous prices, $500-700 for a key, I think ebay is the only way to go...

Yeah but t hen you are still at their mercy for programming it.

I have a mate at a VW dealers in the UK but he said Audi had stopped them doing key coding and they could only do VWs. When they do the job they hook the car to a network and download stuff direct from VW at Milton Keynes.

It used to be that you could apply for the codes if you were a registered business but with loads of folk doing transplants I think they were getting scared of losing loads of money.
