How do you check whether a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T has been APR chipped??

Hey all,

My good mate has just bought a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T (engine code AEB) and the previous owner said is has an APR chip. He says it definitely feels quicker than a stock A4 but wants to know for sure if its got one and if possible, how to switch it on/off. How can he check whether it has been chipped??

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You will have to remove the ecu & open it up - the encryption board will have some numbers on it - give me a call with those numbers & we can tell you if its our software or not!
