Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    2014 Jetta Air conditioner intermittently not working and squeeling noise

    Hi all

    I purchased a brand new 2014 Jetta 6 months ago and have been very happy with it.

    On two occasions now, the air conditioner blower has stopped working intermittently.

    Thankfully the car is still covered under warranty, though I'd be interested to know if any other owners have encountered this problem.

    Another thing, possibly unrelated, but a squealing noise can be heard occasionally whilst driving.

    Squealing noise could be the belt that drives the compressor may be slipping or there may be an issue related to the compressor itself. (Clutch maybe?).

    Let us know what the dealer changes under warranty.

      No clutch fitted on VW compressors for atleast 5 years now. Just drop into a dealer to have it looked at, have seen a few Skoda's that get noisy due to the valve on the compressor. That may or may not transcend to the VWs.
